Our biggest event of the year, our Cal-Stanford combined Big Game Party attracts hundreds of alumni from across the DC metro area, in a combined chapter tradition that has lasted for over 50 years!

This Group is dedicated to the longstanding DC Cal tradition of enjoying each other's company over a a good drink at great establishments in the National Capital region. We usually have a DC Cal Happy Hour every month, switching neighborhoods and type of bars (outdoor, dive, classy, new, old, etc.) to help serve the diverse interests of our alumni. With over a dozen outreach events each year, this group has single-handedly led the effort to bring more out of staters to our awesome university on the best coast. Washington, D.C. was just recently named as possibly the nation's gayest city by the NY Times. Connect with the LGBT alumni in our club as they explore the hottest venues and locations this city has to offer! They also collaborate with fellow DC alumni clubs, such as Stanford, and helped found the Inaugural Lavender League––D.C.'s first coalition of LGBT alumni groups. Rich knowledge lives in many alumni who reside in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and also within the professors who come in and out of this important place for talks on Capitol Hill. From paleontology to the national press, and immigration reform to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, you'll be sure to learn a remarkable deal from the eminent thinkers in the field who hail from Berkeley. 
The club prides itself in organizing several high-profile level events that attract the area's most prominent alumni to raise funds. From the Westin to the Cosmos Club, the club goes to great lengths to secure the most elegant venues––all in the name of raising funds for our prestigious university and for the students who need that extra help. Previous alumni honorees have included Norman Mineta, Lorenzo Alexander, Beth Brinkmann, and Dr. Carol Greider. Headed by our VP of Activities, Allard Chu.

Brunch Bunch

The nation's capital affords new and veteran alumni alike with fantastic arts and cultural sites. Explore early colonial heritage, modern art, ethnic celebrations, and everything in between as the club heads to fascinating venues all over the city each month.

Our club is one of the few in the nation's capital to boast winning teams in golf, soccer, flag football, softball, volleyball, AND basketball! How's that for athleticism? Join in the fun as several hundred sports games take place year-round on some of Washington's most picturesque settings, such as the National Mall & Anacostia Park along the Potomac.
