Brunch, as in many cosmopolitan cities across the country, has become a staple of culture and life here in the District. Join this lively bunch as they explore new venues across the city and reminisce about our great university over bottomless mimosas and tasty selections from the hottest new venues. Washington, D.C. was just recently named as possibly the nation's gayest city by the NY Times. Connect with the LGBT alumni in our club as they explore the hottest venues and locations this city has to offer! They also collaborate with fellow DC alumni clubs, such as Stanford, and helped found the Inaugural Lavender League––D.C.'s first coalition of LGBT alumni groups. For more information, please e-mail her at calpride@dccalalumni.org
Rich knowledge lives in many alumni who reside in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and also within the professors who come in and out of this important place for talks on Capitol Hill. From paleontology to the national press, and immigration reform to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, you'll be sure to learn a remarkable deal from the eminent thinkers in the field who hail from Berkeley.
The club prides itself in organizing several high-profile level events that attract the area's most prominent alumni to raise funds. From the Westin to the Cosmos Club, the club goes to great lengths to secure the most elegant venues––all in the name of raising funds for our prestigious university and for the students who need that extra help. Previous alumni honorees have included Norman Mineta, Lorenzo Alexander, Beth Brinkmann, and Dr. Carol Greider. Headed by our VP of Activities, Allard Chu.
The club is made up of a diverse group, much like our university! Check them, their specialties, and contact the leaders below for more info!
Several dozen alumni walk the halls of senate and house buildings on Capitol Hill, or known to D.C. insiders as just "The Hill". Join this group as they meet once a quarter, usually in the cafeteria of the halls of Congress, and reminisce about how ASUC government was a piece of cake! E-mail at politicos@dccalalumni.org
Our club is one of the few in the nation's capital to boast winning teams in golf, soccer, flag football, softball, volleyball, AND basketball! How's that for athleticism? Join in the fun as several hundred sports games take place year-round on some of Washington's most picturesque settings, such as the National Mall & Anacostia Park along the Potomac. Fall is flag football season for us in DC. If interested in joining our team, please contact our VP of Athletics, Allie Arcese, at athletics.dccalalumni@gmail.com.
